Krystle
|
From a young age, Krystle always enjoyed being active - be it participating in the school's canoeing and dragon boat teams, playing netball during recess, hiking up Mt. Ophir with her team in secondary school, or going for jogs in the evening. But during her polytechnic years, tight deadlines for assignments meant lots of all-nighters and accumulated sleep debt, and busy schedules led to unhealthy eating habits - which also meant that staying active became the lowest priority for those few years.
That changed in 2016 when Krystle stepped into a Crossfit gym for the first time. The feeling of lifting weights and completing a tough workout brought a sense of euphoria that motivated her to keep going back for more. With each workout, her curiosity for the technical side of strength sports as well as eagerness to learn more about fitness and well-being grew. She began to research and learn more about fitness and nutrition during her free time.
Equipped with new knowledge and a newfound love for lifting weights, Krystle decided to venture into Powerlifting in late 2017 and has been passionate about and competing in the sport ever since.
After answering several curious friends' questions on what a "good diet" consists of, and teaching a few others proper weightlifting form, what types of exercise to do or what kind of training plan to follow for their specific goals, she realised something. There was ultimate fulfilment in journeying with someone and helping them reach their fitness and nutrition goals, while finding joy in keeping fit and eating well, instead of viewing it as a chore. This led to her making the passion into a career by becoming a Personal Trainer.
